NOVEMBER 25, 2016
"Getting Ready for Sunday" is a resource we provide to help the church look ahead to the upcoming Sunday. We want to prepare well for gathering together by reading God’s word, praying, and singing.
This week we conclude our sermon series through Psalm 23, “Forevermore.” Check out the series video here:
This week we are looking at Psalm 23:6 and seeing how a constant awareness of Christ's presence automatically eliminates most of life's difficulties and dangers while providing a sense of security and peace.
Our Call to Worship is Psalm 100:
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!
Serve the Lord with gladness!
Come into his presence with singing!
Know that the Lord, he is God!
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
and his courts with praise!
Give thanks to him; bless his name!
For the Lord is good;
his steadfast love endures forever,
and his faithfulness to all generations.
God calls us to worship him in this psalm because of his eternal, steadfast love. We can experience his presence with great joy and gladness because of Christ! We need not fear or feel alone because God has made us “his people and the sheep of his pasture”
Read Psalm 100 and pray that God would:
Refresh us with the truth that we always belong to God.
Give us great joy in Christ as we gather.
Here are the songs we are singing this Sunday. We chose them because they remind us that our present, past, and future are held securely by Christ.
Here is last week's sermon in case you missed it:
