DECEMBER 8, 2016
"Getting Ready for Sunday" is a resource we provide to help the church look ahead to the upcoming Sunday. We want to prepare well for gathering together by reading God’s word, praying, and singing.
This week we are continuing our Advent Sermon Series “He Is”:
This week we are looking at Exodus 3:1-15 and seeing how God’s call to service always comes with the promise of God's presence.
Our Call to Worship will include lighting the “Love” Advent candle. Here is the scripture we’ll be reading as our Call to Worship.
How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
Through your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way.
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
God calls us to worship him through the goodness of His word. We rejoice together knowing that God is near to us, lighting our way with the presence of his Word.
Read Psalm 119:103-105 and pray that God would:
- Fill our hearts with the hope of Christ.
- Give saving hope to our friends, families, and neighbors who need Christ.
Here are the songs we are singing this week. We chose these songs because they call us to be in awe of the glory of God and they remind us of his all-sufficient power.
Here is last week's sermon in case you missed it:
