AUGUST 17, 2017
"Getting Ready for Sunday" is a resource we provide to help the church look ahead to the upcoming Sunday. We want to prepare well for gathering together by reading God’s word, praying, and singing.
This week we are continuing our sermon series “Multiply: a Journey Through the Book of Acts.”
This week we are looking at Acts 1: 12-26 and seeing how incarnational living is embodying the mission and the message of Jesus.
Our Call to Worship is Psalm 67:1-3.
May God be gracious to us and bless us
and make his face to shine upon us, Selah
that your way may be known on earth,
your saving power among all nations.
Let the peoples praise you, O God;
let all the peoples praise you!
When the desire to proclaim and embody the gospel of Jesus drives us, it results in a life devoted to the worship of God. If our number one priority is to show and tell the glory and goodness of God to a watching world, it becomes the thing that governs our thoughts, actions, and futures. Psalm 67:1-3 calls us to worship God by showing us to ask that we could experience God’s grace and glory so that a watching world would come to know and worship him. We worship God when our whole lives are directed at calling others to worship God!
Read Psalm 67:1-3 and pray that God would:
Give us deep desire to see the lost saved.
Help us trust and experience his glory and goodness as we worship together.
Here are the songs we are singing this week. We chose these songs because they remind us of how good it is for God to rule our hearts and call us to share the gospel with the world.
Here is last week's sermon in case you missed it.
