OCTOBER 3, 2017
"Getting Ready for Sunday" is a resource we provide to help the church look ahead to the upcoming Sunday. We want to prepare well for gathering together by reading God’s word, praying, and singing.
This week we are looking at Judges 6:28-7:22 and seeing how God moves us from prideful self-dependence to humble trust in his faithful character.
Our Call to Worship is Deuteronomy 32:3.
For I will proclaim the name of the Lord;
ascribe greatness to our God!
When we gather together on Sundays, God is reminding us of how great he is. Even when we think circumstances, other people, and even ourselves are great, God calls us to humble ourselves before him and remember who he is. God wants our hearts to be anchored in the truth of his character, not in the shifting sands of circumstances and people. As we gather this Sunday, let’s come ready to be in awe before our great God.
Praise God he is actually greater than our experiences and fears.
Pray that we would humble ourselves before our great God.
Here are the songs we are singing this week. We chose these songs because they help us humble our hearts before God and trust his perfect character.
