MAY 17, 2017

Church family,

"Getting Ready for Sunday" is a resource we provide to help the church look ahead to the upcoming Sunday. We want to prepare well for gathering together by reading God’s word, praying, and singing.

This week we are continuing our series “Multiply: A Journey through Acts.” We’ll be looking at Acts 18:1-4 and seeing how God uses our vocations and marriage to proclaim the gospel.

Our Call to Worship is Ephesians 2:19-22.

So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.

God uses the church to build us into who he desires us to be as his people, not just as individuals but as a faith family. When we are part of a church we should expect it to nurture and challenge us to grow in our love and obedience of God and service to one another. God has designed his church to sanctify and grow us in our faith, not just for our own good but for his glory and the good of others. As we gather together as a church this Sunday, let’s come ready to grow and serve one another in becoming more like Christ!

Read and:

  1. Pray that we would grow to be more like Christ this Sunday.

  2. Pray that we would be led by the spirit into deeper obedience and trust.

Here are the songs we are singing this week. We are singing these songs because they call us to value and trust God’s will for our lives.
