JUNE 14, 2017
"Getting Ready for Sunday" is a resource we provide to help the church look ahead to the upcoming Sunday. We want to prepare well for gathering together by reading God’s word, praying, and singing.
This week we are looking at Acts 18:23–19:10 and seeing the importance of Word-driven disciple making.
Our Call to Worship is Psalm 92:
It is good to give thanks to the Lord,
to sing praises to your name, O Most High;
to declare your steadfast love in the morning,
and your faithfulness by night,
to the music of the lute and the harp,
to the melody of the lyre.
For you, O Lord, have made me glad by your work;
at the works of your hands I sing for joy.
Psalm 92 tells us that singing and rehearsing the good news of what God has done through Christ should bring us great joy. It helps us reframe our lives and better interpret what is happening to us because we remember that whatever we are going through, good or bad, is part of God’s larger story of redemption. It's good to give thanks to God because he only does good to us! Let's gather together this Sunday ready to be made glad by the gospel as we proclaim its good news to one another.
Pray that we would see how God is working in our lives for his glory and our good.
Pray that we would be refreshed by the gospel.
Here are the songs we are singing this week. We are singing these songs to praise God for the good news of the gospel and because they remind us that everything we need is found in the gospel.
