We support international, national, state and local missions. Reaching over 125 countries for the cause of Christ!
Southern Baptist Convention
The Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention supports a variety of mission ministries world wide. ORBC gives 50 percent of our Cooperative Program money through the Southern Baptists of Texas and 50 percent through the Baptist General Convention of Texas. This money is distributed to a wide array of International, National, State and local ministries. It is a comprehensive way to reach over 125 countries with missionary work.
International Mission Board
The International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention, has a main objective of presenting the gospel of Jesus Christ in order to lead individuals to saving faith in Him and result in church-planting movements among all the peoples of the world. God has called us to proclaim His name among all peoples. But 2,161 people groups, live in The Last Frontier—the part of the world with little or no access to the gospel. That’s 1.7 billion people who have virtually no chance of hearing the good news of Jesus Christ. God is using us to carry the light of Jesus to people groups in spiritual darkness across the globe. Your gift to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for international missions helps to dispel that darkness—and to finish our God-given task of missions.

Lori is assigned to Global Publishing Services as an artist. Her main activity has been the production of a comprehensive set of Biblical illustrations that can be used when scripture is published. Having illustrations included in the published scriptures enables the reader to understand Biblical concepts when reading about them for the first time. This is very helpful for people who live in very isolated parts of the world.
Rick is assigned to the Language Software Development (LSDev) department. LSDev develops computer software that is designed to help those who are translating the scriptures into the minority languages of the world. Our goal is to enable the translators to produce better translations and to enable them to finish sooner.

They are working at the JAARSs center of Wycliffe Bible Translators where Dick has been landscaping consultant for the campus there. He has also finished an ethnobotany book about the Campa tribe and has been working on a history of the tribal people that may be adapted as a textbook. Jackie helps shuttle the elderly to doctors and other appointments in town. They live at 6220 Townsend Lane, Waxhaw, NC 28173. We attend a Baptist Church in South Carolina, about the size of Ovilla and about 11 years old.
Dick is looking into ways to promote education and church development in the Campa tribe. There is a Baptist team working in the lowland Campa areas where we had formerly been and perhaps we can tie the highland tribe into a joint venture. I am corresponding with the SBC team in Lima about this. A local church here is tied into the project and have sent a number of volunteers down to help.
