JULY 14, 2016
Getting Ready for Sunday is a resource we provide to help the church look ahead to the upcoming Sunday to prepare well for gathering together by reading God’s word, praying, and singing.
This Sunday, we will be continuing our sermon series in John by looking at John 20:1-10. We’ll see that we are saved through the resurrection to not only have the forgiveness of sins, but to also bear witness knowing Jesus has defeated sin, death, and evil.
Our call to worship will be from Psalm 25:8-10. Read it and see how God’s goodness is demonstrated in how He “instructs” and “teaches” us to desire to walk in His paths of covenant love.
As you read it pray that God would:
- Encourage those who are tired, brokenhearted, and feeling far from God.
- Grow and change us to desire His kingdom on earth, not our own.
Here’s last week's sermon in case you missed it:
A Prayer for God's Glory and Our Good
Here are the songs we are singing this Sunday. Listen to them to prepare for our gathered worship. We chose these songs that our new lives flow out of the resurrection life of Christ.
