Getting Ready for Sunday, August 14

AUGUST 11, 2016

Church family,

"Getting Ready for Sunday" is a resource we provide to help the church look ahead to the upcoming Sunday to prepare well for gathering together by reading God’s word, praying, and singing.

This Sunday we are kicking off our new fall sermon series “To the One Who Conquers”. Check out our preview video here:

This Sunday we’ll be looking at Revelation 1:9-20 and seeing how the risen Christ in glory, summons forth obedience from His church.

Our call to worship is Matthew 11:28-30:
28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

As you read it, pray that God would:

  1. Bring those who don’t know Christ to our gathering to hear the gospel.
  2. Teach us to desire obedience and freedom in Him.

Here are the songs we are singing this Sunday. We chose these songs because the exalt Christ as worthy above all things and remind us of the peace and security that comes from following the resurrected Christ. Listen to these songs beforehand to prepare for worshipping with the church.
