MARCH 23, 2017
"Getting Ready for Sunday" is a resource we provide to help the church look ahead to the upcoming Sunday. We want to prepare well for gathering together by reading God’s word, praying, and singing.
This week we are concluding our sermon series 1st and 2nd Samuel: A Man After God’s Heart. Check out the sermon series bumper here:
This week we are looking at 1 Chronicles 28 and seeing how David commissions Solomon to rule righteously by knowing, serving, and seeking God.
Our Call to Worship is Psalm 95:1-5:
Oh come, let us sing to the Lord;
let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;
let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
For the Lord is a great God,
and a great King above all gods.
In his hand are the depths of the earth;
the heights of the mountains are his also.
The sea is his, for he made it,
and his hands formed the dry land.
God calls us to rejoice in worship because of his great power and control in the world. His greatness and goodness fills our hearts with thanksgiving and leads us to gather together in a spirit of joyful thanksgiving.
Read Psalm 95:1-5 and pray that God would:
Fill our hearts with thanksgiving as we gather together.
Encourage us through the knowledge that he rules the world.
Here are the songs we are singing this week. We chose these songs because they remind us that we exist to bring glory to God and they rejoice in the peace and purpose that comes from belonging to God. The elementary kids will also be helping lead us in worship this week!
