SEPTEMBER 28, 2017
"Getting Ready for Sunday" is a resource we provide to help the church look ahead to the upcoming Sunday. We want to prepare well for gathering together by reading God’s word, praying, and singing.
This week we are continuing our sermon series “Multiply: a Journey Through the Book of Acts.”
This week we are looking at Acts 5:12-42 and seeing how faithful gospel ministry results in opposition and blessing.
Our Call to Worship is Psalm 25:8-10.
Good and upright is the Lord;
therefore he instructs sinners in the way.
He leads the humble in what is right,
and teaches the humble his way.
All the paths of the Lord are steadfast love and faithfulness,
for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies.
Sometimes we can fear or avoid the change God is calling us to. We can be content with our current state and not want to surrender what we’ll have to if we really obey and follow God. Psalm 25 calls us to worship by trusting that God is always good when he “instructs sinners in the way” and when he leads the “humble in what is right”. Psalm 25 promises us that whatever road God leads us down “all the paths of the Lord are steadfast love and faithfulness”. Let’s worship the Lord together this Sunday by humbly submitting to his leading, wherever that may take us.
Read Psalm 25:8-10 and pray that God would:
Help us see God as infinitely trustworthy.
Help us submit and follow his will.
Here are the songs we are singing this week. We chose these songs because they remind us to trust and submit to our good father as he changes us and remind us of the satisfying hope of the gospel.
